Week Commencing: Sat 24/03/2024

I’m Going To Lose Me Job

We had seven anglers this week attack the main lake, and it started of very hard! With fish showing in every swim on the lake throughout the nights and early morning’s it made it vey frustrating. But the lad’s plugged away and managed to catch a few later in the week.

Co’s Point, a very tough one! Mikael started off in Co’s but after hearing them in Treeline to his right and standing in there for a few hours at two in the morning he decided to make the move. A very good decision on the day and a very hard decision to make. This sadly didn’t work out for Mikael but good angling on his part! Shortly after Mikael moved out of Co’s Mitch Evans who was doubled up in Alamo decided to move in, it took a day or so for Mitch to land his first carp, but he soon unlocked the code and manged to land four fish with the biggest being “The Up Front Comm” at 51lb 12oz and a fish that has been missing for Four years so very well done to him. Mitch opted to fish 31 wraps to the flat oak and started off feeding just corn, after no success he added some crushed boilie to his mix, and this kicked things off. Rig wise, Mitch fished a 9-inch spinner with a size 4 Krank hook, Heli style with tungsten tubing, with a little yellow iso/pineapple pop up.

Jamie Downs in Alcatraz started the week of landing the first fish, a baby stocky but in tough times a single bite can pick up morel across the pond. It then died for Jamie for the rest of the week, but he stuck to his guns and manged one late on, a fish known as “DBOK” at 30lb 2oz. Jamie was fishing 33 wraps toward the scary tree with spinners and little yellow pop ups. Jamie was feeding crushed boilie and corn also.

As you can see a tough week for most but there are still fish out there to be caught, and of the course the super beasts haven’t showed their faces for a while now, so their defiantly due!

Springs just round the corner folks and I for one am certainly looking forward to it!

Until next time, get them rods out!

Tight lines
